When you spill the coffee act quickly and grab a white cloth or paper towel. Grab some supplies from around the house to tackle the stain as soon as you notice it. Careful not to rub too hard and risk embedding the stain into the carpet fibres. Blot up as much of the coffee as you can.

Many coffee stains on your carpet are dried and require some additional effort before they ll lift out. If you still see black coffee on your carpet flush the area with warm water poured from a cup or sprayed heavily with a spray bottle. Coffee stains on carpet are easier to remove when still fresh. Take a clean dishcloth or a paper towel and gently blot the area in order to absorb as much liquid as possible.

Avoid rubbing or scrubbing as doing so will make it worse and the stain will spread. Instead press down into the carpet to soak up all the moisture. Take a dry terry cloth towel and buff are to lift out removing stain and dry area. If you have a more substantial coffee spill or the coffee stain is already dry you can use a homemade carpet cleaner or a powerful commercial cleaning product to remove the stain.

Apply it to the stain and let it absorb as much as possible. There are many commercial carpet cleaners on the market that are formulated individually to tackle tough coffee stains. Then mix one tablespoon of liquid dish soap one tablespoon of white vinegar and two cups of warm water. Let sit for 10 20 minutes.

Stains are always easiest to remove when they re fresh so a dried coffee spill on carpet may take a little extra work to remove. Spilling coffee on carpet unfortunately you won t have the good fortune to get to every coffee spill before it can dry and set.
